What, this isn't how your kids watch TV?

Doesn't everyone have a toddler bed in their living room?

No?

I suggest you try it. Very entertaining!

The other day, Ruby discovered climbing on her crib. Oddly, she was climbing on the outside, trying to get IN - but still not safe. She is SUCH a climber!

In fact, she's such a climber, we were afraid to give her Braden's old toddler bed - it's just asking to be climbed!

(Can we just pause for a minute & appreciate the adorableness of nearly-two-Braden? And his chubby little legs?? He was such a good, sweet little baby! And, he never climbed up on anything...)

Monday while Ruby was at gymnastics, Brian cleaned out Ruby's room, taking out noisy toys & things that can be climbed on. Yesterday for her nap Ruby cried in protest for a while but finally gave up the fight & fell asleep on her bed, but last night was ROUGH. We're all a little (or a lot) sleep deprived today (and at about 10:30, she ended up back in her crib, where she slept soundly almost immediately.) Today, though - she went down for her nap in her toddler bed with just a little bit of fussing. That's good progress!

I am so happy with Craig's List right now. We recently sold some of Ruby's baby stuff (including the changing table she was always trying to climb) and made about $55 AND de-cluttered our house a bit.

I went to Craig's List to find Ruby a bed, and sure enough we found this super cute little bed - a bargain at $20! - and Brian picked it up on Sunday. Ruby was so excited! She knew right away what it was, and tried climbing into it, even before we put a mattress in it. (In that first picture, did you notice Ruby signing "sleep"?)

So ... if anyone's interested in buying a used Thomas the Train toddler bed, let me know (I'm planning to put it on Craig's List!) I've got a different one coming from a friend for Lily - because there's no way I can put that Thomas bed anywhere near Ruby. She'd be dancing on top of it, instead of napping!

Too cute!!! The little girl I sit for is still in her crib but she uses it mostly as a trampoline. She just holds onto the railing and jumps and jumps and jumpssss.

She looked to make sure I was watching and then She stuck her leg up on the arm of the couch, turned back and grinned. Little bugger!! I grabbed her before she tried to vault over the arm of the couch onto the floor.

Sounds like the new bed will give mommy some peace of mine!

OMG a friend at work was just telling me TODAY how she wants/needs a thomas bed for her little boy!! She looked on craigslist but could not find one that wasn't already claimed. They live here though. But think if they were going to buy a new one they would have to come that way anyway...they don't sell such marvelous things here. Anyway, how much would you ask for it? I will give her the info and get a hold of you.....Kim B

I honestly was thinking how dang cute little punkin' Braden was, even before reading your next line.

We need to get Kira a toddler bed, soon. Ruby is such a big girl!

They are both so stinkin' cute. We are trying to hold out on the toddler bed since the kids share a room. So far they are both content to just screech across the room at each other. Fingers crossed that it lasts until this summer when Lucas is two...at least! Otherwise, I may have to ship them off to learn some sleeping lessons from B and R. ;)

Oh Wow, Michelle, you ARE busy! What exciting news: Adopting Lilly, having lil Ms Ruby be so INDEPENDENT (Yikes/Grin) and Handsome Branden growing up, and of course we can't forget to mention our Dynamic Karly! Sounds like things ROCK at your house, grin.

Wow, we haven't put Leah in a toddler bed because I really don't think she'd stay in it! However, she's as good as Ruby in the climbing department so her crib is also an issue for us!

Love seeing the two of them in the bed. Leah hops in Greg's bed before we say goodnight every evening. So cute!
