Lego Love

When we were in Florida, one of Braden's favorite things was the Lego Store. (I KNOW - we hadn't even blogged that yet, have we?!)

In fact, now Braden wants to work at the Lego store when he grows up. But he thinks he'll need a ladder to build the big Lego projects. So, he says, "Maybe I should take a ladder class?" We thought that was a good plan.

ANYWAY - my brother is apparently Braden's favorite person. We would be hanging out with my mom and Karly would say, "Nana, I love you." and Braden would pipe in, "I love Uncle Mike!"

That was pretty much the theme of the trip for Braden. "Where's Uncle Mike?" and "When do we go back to the Lego Store?"

So, the much beloved Uncle Mike bought a belated birthday gift for Braden, at the Lego store:

An Advent Calendar. Every day, you open a box and put together a small Lego project.

Braden spends HOURS of time each day looking at the box and playing with the few items he's opened so far. Seriously - HOURS. We have to put it out of reach at dinner time. I'm surprised he hasn't asked to sleep with it.

So, good job, Uncle Mike! I didn't think you'd be able to ever top last year's marble game, but you have. Once again, you picked a perfect present.

Braden & Uncle Mike playing at the Lego store...

I'm not sure who had more fun.

Arrgh!
This is the kind of giant Lego sculpture Braden wants to make some day

Secretly I think Jon hopes that Taylor is everything Braden is... From the Star Wars, to Indy to LEGOS (I would love to donate the six enormous boxes in my basement, but Jon would KILL me ;) I just hope Taylor and Livi are both as fun and creative as Braden. I also hope they will like being Big siblings as much as Braden is to Ruby... You and Brian are definitely doing something right!

The best thing about kids, is Us Grown-up folks can "PLAY" and pretend, "It's really for the Kids"
but we like it as well!
We went to Calif. Lego's it was really nice & fun to see all the giant faces and the back-ground making of the faces (How'd they do that?)
hugs to the Z family and We are Thankful For our Family & Blog Friends, Everyday and Just for this moment enjoy.

Yay! Glad he likes the legos. You're right, I loved the lego store and you have no idea how hard it was not to offer lego-building advice to Braden. And that advent calender was too cool not to get. I used to get excited about opening one for a piece of chocolate. That excitement plus the anticipation of xmas plus legos . . . this is why shopping for Braden is so fun. I just have to buy him gifts that make me jealous and he likes them.

I think our boys are so alike! That advent calendar is so cool!! We have a Playmobil one, but I might have to look for the Lego too.

OH my God. I've got a Lego kid who would FLIP over that, too. I'd never heard of that!

We also hit Lego land at Disney -- is it not the coolest??
